San Antonio public data
Free tools built from the city’s own public records, and from the State’s. No signup, no email wall, every figure published beside the coverage rate it was computed from. Each one carries a documented API and a downloadable CSV.
San Antonio Crime Map
42 months of SAPD reported offenses by ZIP code, with trends and rates. Honest about what the open data cannot tell you.
PUBLIC DATATrail Accessibility Map
Every San Antonio city trail by surface firmness, plus the sidewalk gaps that decide whether you can reach it. Certifies nothing, and says why.
PUBLIC DATABuilding Permits Data
Every San Antonio building permit by type, district and month, published with the coverage rate of every field. The dollar totals are computed from a fortieth of the record, and this shows you that.
PUBLIC DATAAggressive Driving Report
Crashes and wrong-way drivers police were called to, plus aggressive driving reported by residents. Two separate counts, never added together. No plates, no names, no descriptions.
PUBLIC DATABar & Restaurant Revenue
Nineteen years of San Antonio alcohol sales by ZIP code and month, from the State’s own filings. In April 2020 receipts fell 95% while the number of open permits went up.
PUBLIC DATALicense Plate Readers
At least 540 automated plate readers are mapped across Bexar County, 500 of them Flock Safety. No agency that operates them publishes a location, so this is a floor and not a census, and it says so.
PUBLIC DATAData Centers
Data center building permits, and why the City record cannot tell you how many there are or how big they are. One building in this file has its floor area stamped on 63 separate permits.
CITY PERFORMANCE311 Response Times
The City sets its own deadline for your service request and records whether it met it. It misses on about one in ten. Out-of-cycle collection, which carries a fee, is late 59.6% of the time.
CITY PERFORMANCEBond Projects
Two billion dollars of voter-approved capital, project by project, with what has been spent. The column named Total Budget is a recorded zero on three quarters of them, so the obvious sum reports spending at 602% of budget.
CITY PERFORMANCECouncil District Lookup
Your council district from your address, then what the City record holds for it: service requests against the City’s own deadline, permits, bond spending and sidewalks. No score and no ranking, because the five records cannot be added together.
CITY PERFORMANCEPolice Response Times
How long SAPD takes to reach a call, by priority, patrol area and call type, over 43 months. The City attaches an interval to every call and defines it nowhere, so the page argues what the column has to be before it reports a figure.
PUBLIC RECORDSMissing Children Records
No public record counts missing children in Bexar County. What state police entries, foster care, police calls and the Sheriff’s record count instead, what each cannot say, and where to report a missing child right now.
PUBLIC RECORDSMissing Persons
The state’s current missing person cases for Bexar and the seven counties around it, from the DPS bulletin, checked every day. A case DPS removes drops off within a day, and nothing here is submitted by the public.
COUNTY SPENDINGCounty Capital Projects
Bexar County publishes the contractor, the consultant and the construction cost of every capital project. Read that cost column as a number and eight rows with a trailing dollar sign vanish, taking a third of the money and the largest project with them.
COUNTY PERFORMANCESheriff Response Times
How long the Bexar County Sheriff takes to reach a call, by the priority the County gave it. No target is published anywhere, so nothing is late. The source keeps thirty days; this archive keeps the days that have fallen out of it.
PUBLIC DATAData Center Corroboration
Facilities a federal environmental register places in the metro that the City permit file does not contain. A corroboration record, never an inventory, and never added to the permit count.
PUBLIC DATAData Center Environmental Record
The City permit record has no data center category. The federal one does. Searching by classification finds four facilities with major-source air permits and no City permit site within 400 meters.
PROPOSALData Center Zoning
Under the rules Council votes on in October, how much land stays eligible in each district. The 500-foot setback removes sixteen times more land than the zoning list does. Not adopted, and scored at four setback distances.
