Why one list
The events that matter to a small contractor are spread across a dozen calendars that nobody checks together.
Bexar County posts its vendor workshops on the county calendar. Alamo AFCEA posts its luncheons on its own site. Supply SA, which certifies small, minority and women-owned businesses for the City and the County, posts on another. The chambers each run their own. Miss one and you miss the room where the buyer or the prime was standing. This page reads those calendars every morning and puts the events in date order, with a link back to each organizer.
What is on it, and what is left off
On it: events where a San Antonio business can meet a public buyer or a larger contractor, learn how an agency buys, or get certified, plus industry association and chamber business programs.
Left off on purpose: ribbon cuttings, grand openings, golf tournaments, galas and social mixers with no business program. They are real events, but they would bury the ones this list is for.
Not events at all: a bid that is open for responses is not something you attend, so bid windows are not listed here. Open federal IT solicitations are on the federal IT opportunities board.
Out of town: a listing that turns out to be somewhere else is dropped. The SBA’s district list, for example, carried a Denver forum and a San Angelo summit in the same week; neither is here.
Where the list comes from
Bexar County’s public calendar (purchasing, business and veteran business categories), Alamo AFCEA, Supply SA, the Metro SA Chamber, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber, the SBA, and SAM.gov notices from San Antonio and Joint Base San Antonio contracting offices that announce an industry day or site visit. Some organizers do not publish a calendar that software can read; their events are added by hand from their own announcements.
Times and places are the organizer’s. Events move, fill up and get cancelled, so confirm on the organizer’s page before you go, and register there. A few military events need base access, and the organizer’s page says how to get it.

Being listed is not an endorsement, nothing here is paid placement, and we do not rank one organizer’s event above another’s.
